Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with established standards. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and assisting in the efficient operation of our accounting department. Candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience. College is preferred not required.
Responsibilities
- -Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- -Experience with inventory entry, maintenance and data entry helpful.
- -Conduct some balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- -Maintain accurate records of journal entries, debits & credits, and bookkeeping activities.
- -Collaborate with team members on budgeting, account analysis, and credit analysis tasks.
- -Utilize accounting software such as Sage for various financial transactions and reporting.
- -Assist with tax preparation and compliance for governmental accounting as needed.
- -Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Skills
- -Proficiency in accounting software The ability to learn new softwares quickly. A bookkeeping and/or accounting background a must, preferably a minimum of 2 years.
- -Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and technical accounting principles.
- -Experience with public accounting or non-profit accounting is preferred but not required.
- -Excellent math skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry and financial analysis.
- -Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- -Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly financial records and documentation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
